Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Regarded as one of the best ball handlers of all time, Kyrie is always one of the standout players in his team, being an 8 time NBA All-Star.

Having played his college basketball for Duke Blue Devils, Kyrie was selected first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his rookie season, he was already making a massive impact on his team, winning Rookie of the Year.

Kyrie followed this up with more brilliance, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points in Madison Square Garden. He also made his first All-Star Game appearance in 2013; following up with an All-Star Game MVP in the next year.

It wasn’t until 2016, where Kyrie made his dreams of being an NBA Champion come true, after an historic series against the Golden State Warriors. Kyrie and the Cavaliers were 3-1 down, before completing a memorable comeback to steal the Championship.

The following season, he helped his team reach another final series, against the Warriors for a second time. Unfortunately the heroics didn’t pay off in that year, coming up on the losing side in a 4-1 defeat. Things got worse for him when he suffered a season long injury in the first game back the following season.

After a pretty average season back from injury, Kyrie ended his time with the Cavaliers in 2019, signing for the Brooklyn Nets as a free agent. He missed most of his debut season injured, before helping the Nets reach the Conference Semi-finals.

Controversy for majority of his time with the Nets, due to Covid-19 vaccination issues, Kyrie requested a trade. After four seasons with the Nets, Irving was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks in 2023.
